Uptime and heartbeat monitors

Monitors are checked by Blesta's cron as the Caddie Monitors task, every 5 minutes by default. Change the schedule under Settings > Company > Automation. The Background Jobs section on Tools > Caddie > License shows when monitors last ran.

Alert emails

Alerts are Blesta email templates in the Caddie group under Settings > Company > Emails: Uptime Monitor Down, Uptime Monitor Back Up, Heartbeat Late, Heartbeat Failed and Heartbeat Recovered. They use your Blesta mail settings and appear in the client's email log.

Heartbeat ping URLs

Clients get a ping URL for each heartbeat. A cron job or backup script calls it when it finishes, for example:

curl -fsS -m 10 https://your-blesta/plugin/caddie/ping/index/TOKEN/

Add fail/ to the end of the URL to report a failure.

Short links and QR codes

Short links work with no setup at https://your-blesta/plugin/caddie/go/index/CODE/. QR codes use the same link with qr/ added, and both record click and scan stats.

Using a shorter domain for links

  1. Point a domain or subdomain (for example go.example.com) at your Blesta folder.
  2. Enter it as the Short Link Base URL in Caddie's settings.
  3. Add these two lines to the .htaccess file in that folder, above Blesta's own rules:

RewriteRule ^go/([a-z0-9_-]{3,32})/?$ /plugin/caddie/go/index/$1/ [R=302,L]
RewriteRule ^q/([a-z0-9_-]{3,32})/?$ /plugin/caddie/go/index/$1/qr/ [R=302,L]

Change the base URL only before clients start printing QR codes. Codes already printed keep the old address.
