Client Forum adds a discussion forum to your WHMCS client area. Clients post with the login they already have, so there is no second account to create. The free version needs no license key.

Before you start

  • WHMCS 8 or newer
  • Download Client Forum from Services → My Services or Support → Downloads in our client area

Install it

  1. Unzip the download. Inside is the folder modules/addons/clientforum.
  2. Upload the clientforum folder into modules/addons/ in your WHMCS install, using File Manager or FTP.
  3. In WHMCS admin, go to Configuration → System Settings → Addon Modules.
  4. Find Client Forum and click Activate.
  5. Click Configure, tick the admin roles that should manage the forum under Access Control, and save.

Set up your forum

  1. Go to Addons → Client Forum.
  2. Create at least one category, then add boards to it.
  3. To limit a board to clients who own a product, pick that product when you create or edit the board.

Your clients can now find the forum at https://your-whmcs-url/index.php?m=clientforum. Add a link to it in your theme's menu so they can find it.

Menu bar missing on the forum page? Some third-party themes only show the client menu on certain pages. In your theme's includes folder, find the long {if ...} line that lists pages like clientarea, and add || $smarty.get.m eq "clientforum" before the closing }. The standard WHMCS themes don't need this.
