The Forum link doesn't appear in the client portal

Check that the snapin is enabled under Settings > Plugins > Snapins > Client Forum, and that the folder is at plugins/snapin/clientforum/ (the folder name must be exactly clientforum).

The forum shows an error about missing tables

Open Accounts > Client Forum in the admin once. The tables are created on that first visit.

A client can't see a board

The board is restricted to certain products, and the client doesn't have an active or suspended service on any of them.

Search finds nothing

Search needs InnoDB tables with full-text support (MySQL 5.6+ or MariaDB 10.0.5+). Very short or common words, like "how" or "the", are skipped, so add a more specific word.

Slack or Discord messages don't arrive

  • The webhook URLs must start with https://.
  • Use the Test Webhooks button on the snapin's settings page.
  • Your server needs the PHP curl extension.

A client says they can't post

Members can post up to 5 times a minute. If the thread is locked, clients can't reply to it or edit their posts in it.

Removing the forum

Disable the snapin under Settings > Plugins > Snapins. Your forum data stays in the database in case you turn it back on.
