Client Forum adds a community forum to your Clientexec client portal. Clients post with their normal Clientexec login, with no separate forum account.

Requirements

  • Clientexec 7.3 (should also run on 7.2)
  • MySQL 5.6+ or MariaDB 10.0.5+ with InnoDB (for full-text search)
  • PHP 8.0 or newer, with curl (only needed for Slack and Discord alerts)

Install

  1. Unzip the download. Upload the clientforum folder into your Clientexec plugins/snapin folder, so it sits at plugins/snapin/clientforum/.
  2. Go to Settings > Plugins > Snapins > Client Forum, set Enabled to Yes, and save.
  3. Open Accounts > Client Forum in the admin. The forum's database tables are created on this first visit.
  4. Add a category, then a board.

Clients now see Support > Forum in the client portal, plus a Community Forum tile on the portal home page.

Clientexec also shows a Support > Forum link in the admin sidebar. It opens the same forum admin page as Accounts > Client Forum.

Updating

  1. Upload the new clientforum folder over the old one in plugins/snapin/.
  2. Open Accounts > Client Forum once. Any database changes are applied automatically, and your boards, threads and settings are kept.
